Assalamualaikum and Salam Sejahtera.
With almost three decades as a Kiwanian, I am honoured to have the opportunity to spearhead the prestigious Anugerah Ibu 2024 once again as the organizing chairman.
This endeavour, deeply cherished, holds a special place in my heart, with a decade-long history of orchestration of Anugerah Ibu since 2001. I am gratified by the unwavering support of Kiwanis Malaysia District, recognizing the significance of honouring exceptional mothers who, through their extraordinary efforts, contribute to shaping not only the lives of their children but also the broader community.
Indeed, this event unfolds in the poignant month of April, coinciding with Autism Awareness month and the Down Sydnrome in March. Statistics unveil inspiring stories centered around mothers of special children. In our commitment to creating a safer and enriched environment for children, Kiwanis recognizes abundant opportunities in Malaysia to amplify awareness about children with special needs. Many mothers silently grapple with challenges, navigating the complexities of multi-faceted roles, whether financial difficulties or a lack of understanding in caring for their special children. The potential support of Kiwanis through Kiwanis Malaysia Academy in addressing these challenges is a topic we’ll explore separately.
At the Anugerah Ibu 2024, Kiwanis aims to shine a spotlight on these mothers, acknowledging their boundless love, resilience, and strength. We aspire to underscore the diverse roles they play, fostering positive family relationships, leaving a lasting impact on their communities, and embodying the principles of compassion and selflessness.
Highlighting the significance of this event, it is noteworthy to mention that Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the Sultan of Selangor and Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin binti Abdul Rahman have graciously confirmed their attendance as guests of honour at the event. Further, we are proud to announce a distinguished panel of judges, including individuals of high repute such as Encik Zuhaimi bin Omar, Director of Jabatan Pembangunan OKU, Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi, Community Advocate and Politician, Dato Dr Amar Singh, Pediatrician and NGO Advocate, Puan Nori Abdullah, Chairman of Yayasan Budi Penyayang and Parent Advocate and Rosemary Tan immediate past Governor of Kiwanis Malaysia District who will be contributing their expertise to adjudicate the awards.
This exclusive event is the only platform that honours exemplary mothers. It’s a celebration that acknowledges and appreciates the invaluable role of mothers. We are actively pursuing sponsors and donors to join us in this endeavour. We earnestly encourage corporations and generous individuals to lend their support through donations, table purchases, or in-kind contributions, fostering a collective effort to make this event a resounding success.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your support and generosity. We eagerly anticipate your presence at the forthcoming Anugerah Ibu – an occasion set to resonate with gratitude and admiration for these extraordinary mothers.
Thank you.
Warm regards
Dato’ Fatimah Saad
